NOTES
•The Scholastic Book Fair is here! The students always love to buy books this week at school. I always make sure that students buy books before buying other items. Our day to buy is on Weds.
•Students will be presenting their soda pop bottle projects this week. I’m excited to see them!
•Next week is a short week due to Thanksgiving. I hope everybody has safe travels and enjoys time with your families!
What We Are Learning
Reading and Writing- We read about Pecos Bill this week. We also did Native American research. This week we will be comparing and contrasting traditional fairy tales with fairy tales in a Western setting.
Spelling- Unit 12 test is on Friday. No spelling test next week.
Math- This week we will continue to do addition and subtraction with 2 and 3 digit numbers. The students are needing help with subtraction and regrouping, or “borrowing”. Please review this with your student. We will continue to practice this skill in class.
Social Studies- This week we learned about how transportation and communication has changed throughout the years. We also did a Veteran’s Day timeline. Students practiced reading a paragraph and then ordering the events on a timeline.
