Notes
•Thank you to everybody who made salt dough for our landform projects! We had plenty to make our projects and we even had some leftover to donate to kindergarten classes. The students made their islands on Friday and then painted their projects today. (Monday) I will put up pictures on DOJO!
•
•The Elementary and Middle school are working together on a service project collecting travel sized toiletries. If you have any unopened products, please send them in. Thank you!
What We Are Learning
Reading and Writing- We read about Western Poetry and songs this week. We learned about the man who wrote “Home on the Range” and we also heard some other famous cowboy songs like “Git Along Little Dogies” Yee-Haw!
Spelling- Unit 14 test is on Friday.
Math- This week we will continue to do addition and subtraction with 2 and 3 digit numbers. The students are needing help with subtraction and regrouping, or “borrowing”. Please review this with your student. We will continue to practice this skill in class.
Social Studies- This week we learned about landforms. We made a landform book where we illustrated the different types. We also made our islands with the salt dough. This week we will do a writing and map activity with the landforms we created.
